Salads and Sunbeams, Denver’s own psych-pop group/ art project, is excited to announce their newest full-length album, Into the Starless Night, debuting March 18 2025 on all major platforms.
This collection of 13 songs simultaneously exist in a half-imagined past and a mindful present, pondering the discovery and embrace of personal potential despite (or in spite of?) an absurd world. Some are rockers, some pastoral-psych, and lyrical themes include: okay dates, metaphysical bookstores, apathetic squirrels, and 80s tough-guy cops. Interpretation is half the fun of art, and there’s a lot in this album to interpret if you enjoy that kind of thing.
The album is being released 4 ways:
1) on transparent purple vinyl, including a lyric sheet and a hand block-print Salads and Sunbeams logo, available from the band or on Bandcamp,
2) streaming on all major platforms,
3) in 23 antique bottles, corked and sealed with purple beeswax, violin rosin, and olive oil. Into the Starless Night was played into them in its entirety on the 2024 Winter Solstice. Each bottle comes with a hand-stamped hang tag and can be purchased directly from the band, over email or at shows.
4) at a release party on April 12, 2025 at the Skylark Lounge in Denver, CO. Angel Band and Rabbit Fighter open.
Salads and Sunbeams is Nathan Brazil, Suzi Allegra, Justin Drummond, and Eric Thompson. Into the Starless Night was recorded with Lucas Johannes of Denver group American Culture at his studio, Basemess, over several snowy weekends. Overdubs were completed by Brazil at his house, and then James Barone (Beach House) mixed the album at his studio.
